Copyright & Use

This section describes what a subscriber can and cannot do with an issue of the Pallet Profile. Just because you pay to get the market report doesn’t necessarily mean that you can do whatever you want with it. Industrial Reporting Inc., (IRI), the publisher of the Pallet Profile, owns the copyright to all content in the publication except where otherwise noted.

As IRI works to protect its rights, it will begin to issue new language on subscription forms, renewal notices, and the Profile Web site to better educate customers. IRI will also crack down on copyright abuse using whatever means necessary to protect the long-term viability of the product while working with customers to find new ways to meet their changing needs.

Let’s clear up any confusion about what can and cannot be done with Profile content.

The following are legal uses of Profile content:

• Subscribers may pass along their copy for others to read as long as additional copies are not made in the process. Making a copy would include any activity that allows the original subscriber to continue to use the content while making it available to another person or entity at the same time.
• Subscribers may make a copy of the report for personal use. For example, a subscriber can make a copy to keep in a personal archive while taking the original along on sales calls.
• Subscribers may refer to information in the Profile in direct conversation or communication with other people or entities.

The following are illegal uses of Profile content: 

• Subscribers may not fax, mail, e-mail or transmit, in any way that violates copyright law, the report to other people or entities. Subscribers may not conduct any activity that multiplies the number of people or entities that have simultaneous use of Profile content beyond whatever the Subscriber has paid to have. This includes but is not restricted to people within a company that has subscribed or its clients, contractors or suppliers. Corporate subscriptions are solely intended for the use of the named individual subscribing on behalf of the corporation.
• Subscribers may not put Profile content on the Web, intranets or extranets unless the Subscriber has contracted and paid for that right.
• Subscribers may not take excerpts of Profile content and distribute it to other people or entities without written permission from IRI.
• Subscribers should not take any action to remove or cover up copyright notices from Profile content and/or reports.

Copyright Clearance: From time to time, IRI does authorize paid subscribers to make copies and provide content to customers and third parties on a limited basis. Each copyright request is judged on a case by case basis and may involve a small copyright clearance fee. If you would like to provide copies of the report to clients on a one time basis and need to request a copyright clearance, please call 800-805-0263 and ask for Chaille Brindley or Jeff McBee.

Please be aware that by illegally forwarding the Profile to other individuals or even your customers, you may be putting them in a sticky legal position.
